Position Title: Apprentice Claims Handler

Location: Horsforth (Leeds)

Department: Claims

Holidays: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays

Group benefit scheme in place.

Training: Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Standard, supported by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Qualifications, to become Cert CII. The successful candidate will be supported to complete professional qualifications within an 18-month apprenticeship, with at least 20% of their working time dedicated to training, studying and learning.

Hours: 35 hours working Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm with a one-hour break for lunch each day.

Contract: Fixed-term apprenticeship agreement, with the role to be made permanent following successful completion of apprenticeship.

About the role:

The role of a Claims Handler is to continually ensure that all claims are progressing efficiently and managed through their lifecycle.

You will gain an awareness of all aspects of claims, and responsibilities may include:

  • Claims Management
  • Diary Management
  • Cross-department Communication
  • Complex Claims Management

You will gain an awareness of fraud, claims costs, and reserves along with the importance of accuracy.

No prior experience is required. You will be given appropriate support and supervision to both carry out your job role and complete the apprenticeship.

Qualifications required:

  • 5 GCSE’s 9 to 4 (or equivalent), including Maths and English are essential.
  • 3 A Levels (or equivalent) graded C or above are desirable
