Claims Technician

Position Title: Claims Technician

Department: Claims

Location: Office/ Hybrid

Contract: Full Time

Direct Reporting: Head of Claims

Role description: This is a full-time hybrid role for a Claims Technician, located in London with flexibility for some remote work. The Claims Technician will be responsible for managing claims, handling client communication, and providing excellent customer service. The Claims Technician will also be responsible for claims management and insurance support

Key Result Areas:

• Daily ECF Movements review

• Maintenance of the claims electronic filing systems including making new files

• Client correspondence (Email, letter, fax or telephone messages) when received should be reviewed and responded to within 24 hours

• Take responsibility for the processing of claims on the electronic claims system (ECF) including Class/IMR

• Ensuring Claims payments collected and paid to clients in a timely manner

• Prepare and deliver statistical claims data for brokers when required

• To adhere to the company’s procedures and regulatory requirements concerning technical processing of the company’s business

• Attending outside meetings with Clients and Underwriters as necessary

• Attendance of market meetings in order to keep informed of latest developments

Desired skill, Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Claims Handling, Claims Management within the Marine Insurance Market

• Good level of numeracy and literacy

• Previous experience/ knowledge of ECF/CLASS and the IMR systems

• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good working knowledge of the Underwriters and the Lloyds/Company markets; and their practices, documentation, customer and practice

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Relevant certifications or qualifications in insurance, such as Cert CII or Dip CII, would be beneficial
