Position Title: Insurance Broker Apprentice
Location: Mawdesley
Department: Broking
Holidays: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays.
Group benefit scheme in place.
Training: Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship, supported by our training partner SkillsEdge and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Qualifications, to achieve the Certificate in Insurance (“CII”) qualification. The successful candidate will be supported to complete professional qualifications within an 18-month apprenticeship, with at least 20% of their working time dedicated to training, studying and learning.
Hours: 35 hours working Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with one hour break for lunch each day.
Contract: Fixed-term apprenticeship agreement, with the role to be made permanent following successful completion of the apprenticeship
About the Role:
As a Trainee Insurance Broker, you will need to complete a variety of tasks including:
- Build and maintain ongoing relations with clients
- Take information from clients, to enable assessment of their insurance needs and risk profile
- Research insurance companies’ policies and negotiate to find the most suitable cover
- Ensure that clients understand the terms and cover provided
- Manage client needs throughout the policy life to include any amendments
- Advise clients in respect of claims and how to mitigate risk
- Support team members with managing their client base and answering customer queries via telephone and email.
- The Mawdesley office has a strong equestrian focus and the role would ideally suit a candidate with experience in this industry, although, not essential
No prior experience is required. You will be given appropriate support and supervision to both carry out your job role and complete the apprenticeship.

- Able to take and follow instructions
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be committed to completing both the apprenticeship and CII qualification.
- Have administrative and IT Skills
Qualifications required:
- 5 GCSE’s 9 to 4 (or equivalent), including Maths and English are essential.
- 3 A Levels (or equivalent) graded C or above are desirable *OPTIONAL
